Description

This is my project 1967 5 gauge Porsche 912. I purchased this from the original owner that had the car in his barn in upstate New York 5 years ago. He had this car in a leaky barn since the early 80s when it was last driven. Despite this, after a few hours of work we got it up and running and I have driven it until 2 years ago when I deployed. I decided it was time to fix it and used my deployment time to buy many many spare parts and body panels mostly NOS parts. After pulling it apart this year (and spending thousands on parts), I feel it is more money than I want to spend when I need to focus on my young kids. I have the title in hand. Thanks and enjoy.
I have the complete car, minus the original front bumper, part of the rear bumper, the original carbs (upgraded to K&N duals), and much of the interior fabric. The interior fabric and horsehair insulation was shot from being in storage for 25 years. The body is solid, minus your usual rust areas (why I bought all the panels), frame is good, however needs new rear suspension tray (several places sell it). The original owner had tried to convert the car to a more "modern" look and had many repairs done to the car in the 80s which I aimed to replace. My intent was to modernize the cars fuel and electrical systems as I restored it.
Things with Car:
Original Engine with K&N carbs (ran until pulled from car)
Original 5 speed transmission (great shape, good clutch)
Original Fuchs Steel wheels (complete set)
Solid body (painted red, but originally yellow)
5 gauge Instrument panel
Original disc brakes
Full NOS floor pan
New battery support
New front suspension tray
New rear deck
New rear toe panel
NOS door frames
More body parts in picture that I can't remember what they are
New racing 15 gallon foam filled gas tank
Original gas tank
Passenger compartment pedal and foot rests (metal not wood ones)
aftermarket VW seat
Original Black Leather Seat with chrome parts (Drivers side I think), only good piece from inside of car after storage.
2 more front seats frames and padding from same year car (great shape, original horse hair)
All Original glass to include front and rear windows
Most, if not all the S trim that was on car
Boxes and boxes of spare parts
Full engine rebuild kit (still ion packages)
Set of original badges
Chrome interior parts to include mirror, etc
extra exterior mirrors
Grills, grates, lights, etc
and much more that I cannot remember
Owner and operators manual, repair manual, wiring diagrams, etc
This car is solid and can be rebuilt if you have the knowledge (I don't have the body know how) and the time. Everything on the car worked perfectly except for the heating system when I purchased the car. Obviously it's all apart now. I hope someone with the time and money can repair the car and bring it to it's former glory. I have had a number of Porsche and have loved them all. Feel free to ask any questions and ask for more pictures. I posted a bunch, but I have many more of the motor and other spare parts, seats, glass, etc
You will need to arrange pick up and transportation of the car and a considerable number of spare parts. The frame is a roller and at my friends work shop, and the rest of the parts are in storage at my house. The extra parts would fill the back of a truck easily.
I have spent thousands on this, and I won;t be doing anything further with it unfortunately, people loved seeing me drive it. Please ask any questions before bidding, and all sales are final. Know what you are bidding on before you buy it.
