Description

I bought this from a guy in Texas that had owned the car for 13 years. The car just went through a restoration in metal by a Mexican metal molder who replaced the floor pans and battery box, front to rear of the car completed. The hood and doors show proper fit and finish and the gaps are tight. The front end was removed, put on a bench and reworked by hand for weeks and only done in metal with minimum filler used. The main cabin was also worked on to remove any dimpling or metal flux by this craftsman.
After the body was completed, the car was sanded multiple times to assure smoothness and continuity in the body panels with attention to fit and finish. Attention was paid to the leveling of the metal surfaces so there would be no visible high or low spots on the car. The body was painted with multiple coats of primer and 3 coats of black that's infused with a light pearl sheen for effect. The car looks good from eight feet but could use buffed out when completed and assembled.there is a scratch on the rear quarter that need attention.
The car is numbers matching, body, engine, transmission. The engine turns freely and has compression, should be gone through but is in great shape. The transmission is in good order and shifts smoothly through all gears.
The car rolls freely and has 2 sets of wheels with the car and new tires.
The 356 has a single reservoir braking system, which really should be uprated,of course it is original. The brake system will need to completely be gone through.
Chrome needs refinishing but is all there.
Lenses are with the car but I was going to replace all the lenses ,outside of the headlights and the fog lamp.
Missing- items needed, front bumpers-included but in rough shape, passenger side window glass, new interior, rubber pieces as needed and general restoration parts such as some screws/bolts/fasteners.
Included-multiple carb gasket sets for rebuild, engine gaskets for freshening, gas tank is solid with original cardboard still intact. All gauges are included even the original Blaupunkt radio.Gauges should be checked and rebuilt as needed but are included and intact.Seats and interior included but needs redone, all brackets, mounting hardware, seat backs and rails included.
The floors are showing light rust but it's superficial,we didn't want to work them, then paint them as we wanted the buyer to see them in original shape.
5 original rims (very rare these days),along with the chrome rims and inserts.
Many new parts included,NOS side mirror,NOS headlight glass covers, new complete muffler system, and new door gaskets sets.
Most of the parts have been media blasted, and the aluminum looks as new, additional photos of these parts will be uploaded or an address attached to view pictures.
The car has its original Texas title and is open for transfer.
These cars are appreciating rapidly and this is a solid matching numbers car that needs finishing and put back together.
I actually had purchased this to restore for my daughter but she hated the look, too old dad, and decided on a long nose 72 911E.
